If this doesn’t make it worse… doesn’t this television commercial currently playing on Spain networks just call out to you?
Video link:
Andalucia… te quiere.
And by the way, the music from the commercial is Chambao’s “Ahí Estás Tu.”

Last week I applied for a position within the Student & Residential Life Office at Alma, and unfortunately did not get the Assistant Hall Director position I wanted, but a slightly lower position, Senior Resident Assistant in Mitchell, that I also had applied for (but that’s another story in itself). This means, I will have to be back on campus 2 and a half weeks before the beginning of classes for training with the rest of the staff.
I don’t know how this justifies the not getting the AHD position, but now since I will be SRA in Mitchell, I do not have to be back on campus 3-4 weeks before classes begin, which means there is some time after my London & Wroxton conference to head down south to Spain.
Unforuntately, I think Granada will have to wait, and just revisit Segovia and possibly a day trip into Madrid. I wish I could make it down to Granada, but it would be too much traveling and rushing for only 3 or 4 days. I’m already looking at returning to home to the States the night before I have to be back on campus.
I wish it wasn’t so far away, and that money & time were endless concepts.
I’ve decided I’m staying here forever.
I love it… the culture, people, city. It all just fits with what I need and want.
Okay, I am terrible at this journal thing in Spain. It’s so hard because I can only be online at the school, and there it’s not for a super long time to write… so I have a solution!
Check out my website for plenty of photos and journal about my trip! I update it every couple of days, so you should definitely check it out!! Quickly, this past weekend I went to Portugal and it was great! This weekend I’m in Barcelona, next week in Galicia and after that, going down south to Sevilla and Córdoba with the entire group. Very very exciting!
Oh and I have a great art professor that I just love! It is definitely my favorite class all day long.

Whenever you put six people together that have completely different ideas and dreams, it takes a very long timto figure out a plan that everybody is agreeable with. For example, tonight….
The way the semester works out, we have 9 vacation days, a long 4-day weekend, and another long 5-day weekend. So, we could stay in Segovia, hit up Madrid for a few days, or leave the country and explore somewhere else. Well, our little group have pretty much decided that we want to leave Spain at one point to explore another country while we are here in Europe. Now that was easy, deciding where to go was the hard part. We all have different spending budgets and previous travel history that made the task that much harder. We agreed that we didn’t want to travel alone, nor did we want to spend more time on the road than in a city. After all this, some wanted to go to Paris, Nice and Lyon, or off to London, east to Rome, Florence and Venice (my idea!) or just delve into the country of Spain.
So, after hours of deliberation and compromises, we figured out that (tentatively until something else comes up) we’ll do:
September 23-24 – Madrid
October 5-7 – Portugal
October 12-15 – Barcelona
October 21-29 (fall break vacation) – Northwest Spain: León, Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, Gijon/Oviedo
December 6-10 – Ireland
We’ll see what actually happens.
I wish Italy was in the mix, but these will be great too.
